1961 - 2011, 50 years of service
Ashby firefighters started our ambulance service in 1961 with a used hearse. The era of the small town doctor was ending and they recognized the need to quickly transport the sick and injured to medical care.
Ashby Ambulance is a BLS (basic life support) service with approval to carry Albuterol, Epinephrine, Glucagon, Nitroglycerin, IV fluids, and Combitube. Our primary service area covers 300 square miles in three counties, including some of our neighboring towns. Some fire departments and rescue squads we may be called to assist are; Battle Lake, Dalton, Evansville, Millerville, Underwood and Vining.
Advanced Life Support Paramedics are available from North Ambulance Douglas County (Alexandria, MN) and Ringdahl Ambulance Service (Fergus Falls, MN) to intercept with us when needed.
